Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actress. After making her debut in a feature film with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to appear as a an archaeologist who is sympathetic to Nazis, Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donevan in A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988), and Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) also play roles. Doody started modelling when she was approached. The result was that it turned out to be a profitable career. Doody was adamantly against fashion, thongs and glamour in her modelling career. Once she caught the attention of the director of casting in a James Bond movie, she was cast in A View to a Kill in the role of Jenny Flex. Doody was selected as one of the top twelve promising young actors in the year 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Still only 18 as she played the film, Doody was and is the youngest Bond girl that has ever appeared. A different early film was a small part in the role of IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she starred Mickey Rourke. Doody played Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 version of The Secret Garden. She also played Lilias. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, she played Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) prior to taking possibly her most famous role ever in the role of Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. In the film, she also appeared alongside Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors who have portrayed James Bond. Doody starred alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series inspired by Hitler Diaries. She subsequently relocated to Hollywood. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal she was later chosen to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery his agent and girlfriend. After almost a decade away from the stage Doody was back in the acting world with a small role in 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine acting as herself in an award ceremony scene. She was in the film with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. Doody had a minor role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Doody was a guest on RTE's the medical thriller The Clinic. The project was later shelved. Pam Jefferson, the character that she played in the comedy series E4's Beaver Falls during its first season that ran for two seasons. In 2014 she starred in We Still Kill the Old Way. Almeria the tierra de cinema award, and an Almeria Walk of Fame star was presented on the 21st November 2018.
